Meet Dr. Denton J. James, D.C.
Dr. Denton James has been relieving pain and restoring health non-invasively and drug-free for over 17 years. He graduated from Southwestern Adventist College in 1982 with a degree in Nursing. After the equivalent of 4 years of study at Parker Chiropractic College in Dallas, he graduated as a Doctor of Chiropractic. He currently attends seminars and scientific symposiums and studies professional journals on a continuing basis. His background as an ICU nurse provides experience in networking with other healthcare providers to manage each case for optimum success.
Since opening his practice in 1988, he has treated thousands of people who needed help. Some have been in motor vehicle accidents. Others have been hurt on the job. Some have fallen or had sports injuries at school. Still others have been children and babies with a variety of problems. Dr. James has children of his own, and kids in his practice like coming for their treatment. Women during pregnancy have enjoyed greater health and fewer problems through treatment from Dr. James. Elderly people have come to find pain relief and continued health under his care. Many people come just because they feel better and over all have more energy as the body gradually heals itself.
Dr. James is proficient in many different techniques. These techniques are all safe. Every case is different and requires a certain technique based on age, size, strength of the muscles and ligaments and the amount of degeneration present. An important point to note is that some of these techniques require no twisting of the spine. We have many children as patients, and they all jump on the table and are happy to be adjusted. (No shots!)
Meet Our StaffSusan James, Office Manager
Susan James is our Office Manager. She keeps everything running smoothly and helps to institute updates. She is our HIPAA privacy officer and helps with continuing education for the staff. If you have any problems or complaints, she can get them resolved quickly and satisfactorily.
Judy Bailey, Front Desk Chiropractic Assistant
Judy Bailey is the Front Desk Chiropractic Assistant. When you call the clinic, she is likely the one who will answer the phone. She has a ready smile and will help you get all the right forms filled out. She will take your insurance card information and enter it into the computer for more efficient handling of your case. She works with each patient to schedule his or her treatment to follow the plan of care Dr. James has prescribed for optimum results. We realize that most people are busy and don’t like to wait in doctors’ offices. Therefore, we try to keep waiting to a minimum. Judy is an “on time” person and helps to facilitate our “on time” schedule. Judy is also happy to see patients who just “drop in” the clinic for treatment. However, the patients who have reserved their time will be seen first, and those who “drop in” will be worked in as soon as possible.
Jayne Martin, Chiropractic Assistant
Jayne Martin is the Chiropractic Assistant that you will see in the therapy suite. When a patient is finished with the adjustment from Dr. James, they may have certain types of physical therapy prescribed. Jayne will show the patient to the station where she may administer electrical muscle stimulation, intersegmental traction, ultra sound, alpha stim, heat, ice, and/or intermittent traction, according to the doctor’s order. She also will call patients the day before their appointment to remind them. Most patients really relax and enjoy the benefit they get from this time. It is often referred to as the “shortest ten minutes of the day.”
Alva White, Insurance and Financial Chiropractic Assistant
Alva White is the Insurance and Financial Chiropractic Assistant. On your second visit, she will sit down with you and go over the plan of care the doctor has prescribed. She has verified your insurance and will let you know how the finances will work, your co-pays, deductible, and answer any questions you have. Alva is bilingual and especially helps out with our Spanish-speaking patients. She will do her best to explain all your options to you. We accept cash, checks, MasterCard, Visa, and Discover credit cards. In most cases we are able to file you insurances. Dr. James is a Medicare provider. However, we are not set up as a Medicaid provider.
